Chattanooga Truck Center, Inc. was brought into existence in August 1997 by Jeff Swartout and Ken Terry. Jeff and Ken had been employed at a local truck dealership, but soon had the American dream of building their own full-service light, medium and heavy-duty truck service facility, performing quality work and repairs at reasonable rates.

They started on a one-acre lot and put up a six-bay building. They knew it would be a struggle to start their new facility, but with hard work, they soon hired their first technician and several more followed after. It became obvious that the six-bay building was no longer enough to facilitate the number of vehicles that were coming in each day, and another acre, six more bays, and a parts department were soon added.

In July of 2000, UD Trucks awarded Chattanooga Truck Center the honor of carrying the UD Truck line. UD underwent several changes in the twelve years Chattanooga Truck Center was part of their dealership family, and in 2012 they made the decision to no longer import their medium-sized trucks to the United States. Instead, UD dealerships like Chattanooga Truck Center became known as UD Parts Service Providers for UD parts, service and a second-to-none warranty.

Today, both Jeff and Ken lead Chattanooga Truck Center as the Sales Manager and the Service Manager respectively, providing excellent service to light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, and by matching buyers with the best-used vehicles for sale to get any job done. Together, Jeff and Ken have well over 60+ years of truck servicing experience and expertise behind them, and they lead a team of equally skilled technicians and staff at Chattanooga Truck Center. Tom Beavers is Shop Foreman and has been in the truck service industry for 40+ years. Phillip Mansfield is Parts Manager and has been in the auto and truck parts industry for 30+ years. Peggy Hays is the Office Manager and has been in the truck service industry for 40+ years, in accounting, parts inventory management, service and warranty departments. Chattanooga Truck center's service department is staffed with ASE and UD technicians, who are certified in engine, transmission, power train, A/C and electrical repairs. They also perform axle and trailer alignments, and full body repairs, bumper to bumper.

Jeff, Ken and Chattanooga Truck Center as a whole, have come a long way in the last 20 years, and their success can be attributed to the confidence their clients place in the dependability and top-notch workmanship they receive. Through customer loyalty and great service, Chattanooga Truck Center has grown in facility size, its services offered, its qualified staff and the future continues to look bright.
